NBA Conference Finals-2021 Consider the fact that that last year there was no basketball at this time during the pandemic, as the league was putting together plans to jumpstart the season again. Last year it was somewhat a troubling year for everyone. The NBA survived and closed the season out with the Lakers winning it all. Miami damn neared pulled it off, but they did not have enough firepower to take if from the Lebron led Lakers. Check out Amazon stuff!
Several months go by and the season starts in December; around the Christmas holidays. During the 2020-2021 season there were challenges to teams that led them to sit some of their players due to the Covid protocols. Most teams suffered, not to mention that there were lagging injuries that took a toll on certain teams. In the beginning of the season the Lebron led Lakers were favored by most so called experts to repeat. You had teams like Philadelphia, New Jersey, Utah, LA. Clippers and Milwaukee that high hopes to making it to the finals. We are talking the end of June, right now, and the only teams that are left are the Clippers, and the Milwaukee Bucks, that my have been on that list at the beginning of the season to make the finals.
The surprises turned out to be the Phoenix Suns, and the Atlanta Hawks that are still surviving in there conference finals respectively. The Suns are a game away from going to the NBA finals, and the Atlanta Hawks are behind 2-1 agains their series with the Bucks.
Taking a look back at these years, I would you say that these are fluke year phenomena’s, due to the Corona Virus?
The four teams in the playoffs are pretty much all deserving of winning the Championship. Should the Suns pull it off, this will be Chris Paul’s 1st championship and he much deserves to win one. He has been on teams with 3-1 leads and not been able to turn the corner to advance. Then we have Paul George, who early in his career could never get past the Miami Heat when he was with the Indiana Pacers. Paul George has been nothing less than brilliant in these playoffs, as he has continue to drive the Clippers during this run. Whether he fails in a game, he seems to come back with more vigor in the next. We have the Milwaukee Bucks who are deserving considering that Mike Budenholzer has been to the conference finals several time only to loose out to again the Lebron led teams of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Irony of these playoffs would be if Budenholzer’s Buck loose the series to his former team, that he kept in the playoffs during his tenure or how about the Clippers ousting the Suns; denying Chris Paul his shot at the Championship. Only time will tell.
