Christmas Holiday this year has brought on a strange and ominus feeeling! You can remember the times after the Thanksgiving Holidays, where folks were standing outside all night to get to the deals of the year and getting ready for Christmas. That chore turned out to be a ugly and dangerous practice this year.Customers honing masks and stores metering people into their buildings, as state laws and business responsibilities took hold. Yes you can’t crowd up folks like you use to in areas, as the pandemic has controlled the idea of togetherness and threw that in the waste paper basket. Business’s have pretty much tried to either go the online route, which includes the pick up parking.

So let’s go back to the height of the summer where people were expressing their right not to wear a mask and folks tried to forget that there was a virus being spread around; about as much as breathing air you could catch this virus. Some states tried to lock it down as hard as they could, and there was still resisitance. The 1st lock down back in March proved to help somewhat as it appeared as though the infection rate was going down. The success their could be pointed out that a lot of people were being paid to stay at home to help curtail this mess.
Seems as though the lawmakers forgot that part of the success in getting rates down. You see, a lot of the narative was open the economy, let it flow. The CDC constantly reminding the public about the social distancing and the mask wearing was growing thin on a lot of the public. Let’s just say they had locked down somemore, maybe a few weeks more, or Congress came up with a plan to keep people solvent somemore, so that we wouldn’t have to overrun the hospitals again, especially with the upcoming winter season coming. Imagine the lives that could had been spared, businesses that could had opened and not closed again, and folks that could had been working instead of laid off; wouldn’t that had been something!
Went to the doctor’s office today to get a refill for my prescriptions, and the doctor himself told me that he had a 3 fold uptake in his patient catching the virus, in just over a week’s time. Sounds familiar, maybe 3 weeks ago it was Thanksgiving; (all of the gatherings and get togethers). You hear it on the news, and on the internet, but yet it wasn’t more real to me than today when the Doctor had a different protocol for treating patients. It used to be sit in your car and we will come get you. No more waiting room. Now it was we will check you out while you are in the car. Amazing!
This was real simple stuff, when it came to adhering to wearing the mask, and staying your distance away from folks. Yet, we could not come together on this philosophy. Thank goodness, some of the businesses we frequent made sure you had the mask on. Yes there are some people that innocently forget about the pandemic and may walk into the stores without them, but for the most part when they realized it, they quickly complied, and seen some folks walk back to their car and get the mask before they even entered the stores.
