NFL Wild Weekend-3 away teams and a home team win.

NFL Wild Weekend
NFL Wild Weekend

NFL Wild Weekend it was!  You started out with the Tennessee Titans against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tennessee brought back the punishing running back in the name of Derrick Henry. When announcing him entering the game, you would have thought that the Bengals who not, but a week ago cured their playoff woes for over 30 years with a win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Remember Marvin Lewis who had brought this team to the playoffs many times, only to suffer defeat. Stephen A. Smith use to rag on this guy about the fact that he hadn’t won a playoff game, and should be fired.  Fast forward to this year, and the Bengals have up and surprised two teams now in this playoffs. Go figure. The final score of the Titans vs. Bengals games ended up with a walkoff field goal from the Bengals. Looks like skill and a little bit of luck have brought the Bengals to the AFC championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The last time the Bengals seen the AFC championship game was 1988 where they beat the Buffalo Bills soundly to advance only to loose to the 49ers that year.  Joe Burrow, coach Zac Taylor, and a pretty well put together team and culture appears to be going strong. We shall see what the Bengals can offer up against the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL Wild Weekend, continued and we see a cold evening in Green Bay. We see a Green Bay team that has the momentum in the last few minutes of the game with a 10-3 lead. A mishap with punting the ball from deep in Green Bay’s territory leads to a tying score of 10-10.  Never rule out Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers, but unfortunately this was not going to be that day, as the 49ers kicked a field goal as time ran out.  Was it karma for the Green Bay Packers?  In the off season Mr. Rodgers moaned and groaned about playing for Green Bay. He also had the Covid incident, that was shady. Despite this the Packers gained the number one seed in the NFC, and by a mishap they lost the game. Karma is a bitch!

NFL Wild Weekend started out on Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buc’s the last Superbowl Champion of 2020 vs. the Los Angeles Rams.  The Rams punched the Buc’s lights out from start through finish despite giving up a hefty lead. Considering they were playing Tom Brady, you would not have the Buc’s go out with just 3 pts. Mr. Brady and their defense turned this whole thing around and tied the game with 42 seconds left in regulation, but just like most announcers predict, the juice was gone, the Rams advance down the field and ended the game with a field goal to cut the Buc’s season short. What’s up with Brady’s plans now for playing next season?

NFL Wild Weekend ended with an extremely wild game that went into overtime. At this point either team could had taken the game, it just so happened that Kansas City had the winning edge in overtime with a touchdown to end the game. The Bills again eliminated, but don’t count them out for next year. What does the AFC championship game looks like for next week? We shall see!
