NFL 2019 Week 1-In the Begining

NFL 2019 Week 1
NFL 2019 Week 1

NFL 2019 Week 1 has started and the 1st week was a dandy. Sunday started out with the Rams vs. Panthers. Game appeared to be all Rams at one point, but the Panthers have always had that comeback in them to make it a close game. Rams 30 Panthers 27. Eagles spotted the Redskins 17 point lead before barreling back to take a Eagle 32-27 win. Deshawn Jackson showed out with key catches and a couple of touchdowns. During the Superbowl year of the Eagles, they were usually jumping out all over you and controlling the time of possession to win games. This game they had the ball 34 minutes vs. Washington’s 25 minutes, this is usually a good indicator that you will win the game. NFL 2019 Week 1 take a commercial break

How about those Dallas Cowboys, took it right to the Giants most of the game. Cowboys defense was pretty good hold the Giants down to 17 points. Final score Cowboys 35 Giants 17. Minnesota had a uneventful game taking to the Atlanta Falcons, who couldn’t play the game right to save their life. Final Score Minnesota 28 Falcons 12. The Bills and the Jets were in a nail biter that had the Bills winning. Bills 17 Jets 16. The Browns left a turd on the field as they got that backside handed to them at home: Titans 43 Browns 13. Enough being said about the Browns turning it around, expect more disappointment to the Brown fans this season. The Chiefs continued their dominance by beating the Jaguars 40-26. The sad thing about this Nick Foles debut in throwing a touchdown resulted in a collarbone injury, he will be out a little bit.  How about those Ravens; they danced all over Miami. Ravens 59 Miami 10. It’s the 1st week of the season, and let’s face it Miami’s crew was just not going to cut it. The Lamar Jackson show was on display in this one 324 yards 5 TD passes. Is this a sustainable performance that this kid can carryout during the year, only time will tell. A afternoon game that had the Lions winning this one, ended up 27-27 overtime final. Lions should had won, better luck next week when the Chargers come to Detroit. The Chargers took care of the Colts in OT.  Oh, forgot about that classic match up of the Bears and the Packers. As would be expected this was a tough game, and the Packers ended up on top 10-3 final.  The 49ers came down to the Sunny state, and put a whooping on the Buccaneers. Looks like not much will change for the Buccaneers this year. See what happens, next week. The Seattle Seahawks nipped the Bengals 21-20. Where is Marvin Lewis when you need him? NFL 2019 Week 1

One of the major new stories during the weekend was the antics of Antonio Brown. Well it appears as though he ended up where he wanted to be or did he. They say the rich get richer, and in Antonio Brown headed to New England you figure it will be a walk. Sort of like what they said when Cousins signed with the Warriors last year. I never wish a team bad karma, but I tell you what even with bad Karma the New England Patriots seem to just continue to own that division and the conference. Since Antonio signed with the Raiders, it has been nothing but issues, i.e the foot problem, the helmet, the altercation with the GM. Was this a plan in place to get released? You make the call.  We look at that expected game with Pittsburg, and you know it New England just trounced them. Why did Pittsburg even showed up. They should have sent the University of Pittsburg team to the game to play, they were better prepared to play than the Steelers were. New England didn’t even need to have AB on the field, which should be a clear indication  AB is a nice to have, but you can do without.  If AB has issues in New England, they will not hesitate to drop him like a hot potato.

The game of the week has got to be that New Orleans Saints vs. the Houston Texans.  When it appeared as though the Saints were going to win it, the Texans walked down the field, and went up by one. The Saints who were outed by that no call play on in the conference finals last year, was going to do everything they could to pull this one out and they did with a booming field goal by Lutz. Saints over the Texans 30-28.  Awaiting the final game with the Raiders and the Broncos in the last Monday night game in Oakland; as they are moving to Las Vegas. The Raiders hopped all over the Broncos in the 1st half 14-0. Since then the Raiders have stalled, and now the score is 21-6.
