NFL 2019 Week 5- The Next Chapter Begins

NFL 2019 Week 5
NFL 2019 Week 5

NFL 2019 Week 5-  Just viewed the Rams-Seahawks game. What a game!  Rams tried to run Gurley a little bit, but that wasn’t enough considering that Russell Wilson was not going to tarnish that Thursday night record, in which now he is 8-1.  A unfortunate missed field goal by the Rams in the late seconds of the game, guaranteed the Seahawks a win and now are tied virtuously with the 49ers for 1st place in the West. There were some great plays during the game, especially the play where Lockett stretched out and caught a pass in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown. This was a wildly anticipated game that everyone wanted to watch. Both teams gave their all, hopefully the Rams can turn it around next week against the 49ers, and remember the 49ers are perfect on the road right now!  Check out great buys!

Speaking of the 49ers, this much anticipated game that I truly believed was going to be a great game turned out to be a dud. Where are you Cleveland? On national TV you didn’t even show up. Baker Mayfield had a chance to put his stamp out there and he showed terribly. The Browns, had about 4 fumbles that I counted, and Mayfield threw 2 interceptions, and this game turned out to be a rout 31-3. Did the Browns leave it all out there in Baltimore last week. This was a disappointing Monday night game. Hope there are no more like this the rest of the season. The 49ers are now the only NFC team that is undefeated. Let’s see what they bring to the Rams next week at the LA Coliseum.

The New England Patriots continue to roll right along as they beat the Redskins as to be expected 33-7. The Redskins just don’t have it this year, as you all probably know by now that Jay Gruden is now gone from the organization. The Patriots next two games will feature some more mediocre teams like the Giants, and the Jets. Expect these guys to take home field advantage by the time the playoffs hit, as they are now 5-0.   NFL 2019 Week 5

You have to believe that the Green Bay Packers came into Dallas with a health attitude; after getting beat by the Eagles a week ago. They took it right to Dallas right away and ended up beating the Cowboys 34-24. The game wasn’t that close in the early beginning as the Pack had mounted a 24-0 lead early 3rd quarter. I think it was closer as the Pack was probably getting tired of beating on the Cowboys the way they did. All the same, last week I predicted that the Cowboys would be in a funk and could be looking at a let down this week. The Cowboys will face the lowly Jets next week and should be able to get off the snide with their loosing ways of late.

The Raiders and the Bears were overseas, and surprisingly Gruden’s boys pulled this one off. They beat the Bears 24-21.  The Raiders were winning handly until the Bears mounted a comeback. The Raiders will get a bye week and then meet up with the Packers in week 7. This should be an interesting game, but the way the Pack is playing; you would expect the Pack to win this one easily.

The Panthers continued there winning ways without the Cam and beat the Jaguars 34-27. Christian McCaffery continues to light up the field, with his MVP performances; see his stats. Expect the Panthers to continue their winning ways against the Buccaneers next week, as the Buccanners took a beat down in New Orleans yesterday 31-24; imagine after scoring all those points in LA last week. The league is strange!

The Steelers lost to the Ravens 26-23 in overtime. There is something there with the Steelers, just don’t know when it is going to kick in. QB Mason Rudolph suffered a concussion yesterday, but the Steelers continued to win until Justin Tucker hit a field goal with 10 seconds left sending the game into overtime. Steelers will meet up with the Chargers next week who is currently stinging with the lost to the Broncos yesterday in LA. Broncos 20- Chargers 13. By the way that was the Bronco’s 1st win of the year, and next week they will hope to continue their winning ways by beating the Jaguars next week. NFL 2019 Week 5

A lot of folks just thought that the NY Giants would have a chance against the Vikings this week and even make it a game considering that they had their hopes for their new quarterback Daniel Jones. Turns out the score was Viking 28- Giants 10. in NY. The Giants have come back to reality, let us see how they handle next week with the Patriots????? What was i thinking. The Vikings will meet up with the Eagles next week in Minnesota. The Vikings are looking to continue their winning ways with Philadelphia as they took the Eagles last year 23-21 in Philly.

A game; that would have you think, that the Chiefs would take out the Colts in Kansas City just wasn’ t so, as the Colts beat the Chiefs 19-13. There had to be a lot of expectation that the Chiefs would come out of this week still undefeated, but that wasn’t to be. The Chiefs just look like they had major jet lag from the Detroit game last week, and the injury buy was hanging out with the Chiefs most of the game. Hopefully the Chiefs can recover next week against the Texans, but don’t put any big money on this game. The Chiefs could be looking at another loss next week, before they recover to their winning ways again. The Colts look to get a bye next week, but will meet up with the Texans in week 7. The Texans meanwhile dismantled the Atlanta Falcons yesterday 53-32. What has happened to the Falcons? The Bills and their stingy defense won over the Titans 14-7 in Tennessee.  Last but not least the Cardinals won over the Bengals 26-23.

Right now the teams that seem to be emerging with some momentum are the Patriots, who pretty much hasn’t played anybody of importance, The 49ers, Seahawks, and the Saints. The Vikings appeared to be having issues with the Cousins and Stephon Diggs. Philadelphia still is suffering with injuries, and maybe on the mend to turn it around, the Cowboys are coming out of a two game fog. It is still too early to tell who is for real in this group; but for the most part New England appears to be front runner to take it all. What is your opinion?
