NFL 2019 Week 6-The game that I anticipated on watching Thursday night was the Patriots vs. Giants game. Although the Patriots have a 6-0 record now; the Giants played these guys tough. In this case the Giants played tough until the 4th quarter. The Patriots defense was just too strong to match up. The Patriots stayed on the field and gave the Giants Defense some headaches; not to mention that the Giants turned the ball over 4 times. This in itself doesn’t help out the situation. The Patriots went on to beat the Giants in this one 35-14.  The wind was a factor in Gillette Stadium as field goals were missed, as well as passes dropped. All the same Tom Brady continues to defy the aging factor. It’s kind of like second nature with this guy as he continues to find ways to win. 10 more games to execute and this team will be looking at a bye in the 1st round, as well as home field advantage in the AFC.  NFL 2019 Week 6–Shop Amazon

Now how about those San Francisco 49ers. They are currently undefeated and they went into the Coliseum and beat the Rams handily 20-7.  I think the Rams whole card has been peeped or they have the Superbowl hangover kicking in, and that’s the part for the team that didn’t win. There may be hope on the horizon, as they meet up with the troubled Atlanta Falcons next week in Atlanta. The Falcons took it on the chin, by getting beat by the Arizona Cardinals 34-33.  The 49ers next bout will be with the Carolina Panthers, who would have rested up from the pond trip; where they beat the Buccaneers thanks to the 5 interseptions that Jamis Winston allowed; and a there is a good possibility that the Cam will be back;  as well as the 49ers getting a bye before this game. This will be a great game to watch! By the way the Panthers beat the Buc’s 37-26.

The Seahawks had a tough game with the Browns in Cleveland, but they eventually did prevail. They beat the Browns 32-28-see all scores. Russell Wilson continues to have great games as he passed for 295 yds and had 2 touchdowns and rushed for 1 touchdown. These Seahawks are very consistent; expect these guys to be there come playoff time. Their biggest opponents will be the 49ers in the West.

Kansas City Chiefs are still sputtering as they dropped another home game. This time they dropped on to the Houston Texans 31-24 allowing the Texans to tie for the lead in that division with the Chiefs. I got to believe that Patrick Mahommes has to be hurt. The Chiefs did get back Tyreek Hill who scored a couple of touchdowns. The Chiefs are having problems staying on the field as the Texans held the ball for a whopping 39 minutes, vs. the Chiefs 20 minutes. Lookout the Chiefs are going to play the Broncos next week who are all of sudden on a surge as they took it to the Tennesee Titans 16-0.  The Chiefs could experience another long Sunday afternoon next week in Denver.

Cowboys uhh!!  Their losing continues to happen. Sam Darnold comes back from his injuries and all of sudden turns the Jets around. They hopped all over Dallas like Green Bay did a week ago. It appeared as though the Cowboys didn’t get off of the plane until the 3rd quarter, but by then it was too late. It went down to a 2 pt conversion to tie the game and send it into overtime, but alas that went to hell in a hand basket real quick. The Cowboys lost to the Jets 24-22. The Cowboys will need to figure out what winning is about soon. Luckily they are in the division with the Eagles who they are tied for 1st place. This will be a game to watch as it is the featured Sunday night game. Speaking of the Eagles, they were slapped around by the Vikings and lost 38-20. Stephon Diggs and Kirk Cousins did a job on the Eagles. Cousins threw for 333 yds hitting Diggs for 3 touchdowns. It looked like the Eagles was trying to mail this one in before they even got started. Right now the Vikings are playing good ball despite some of the problems they were experiencing with Cousins and Diggs. They seemed to have broken out that spell. The Vikings will meet up with the Detroit Lions next week in Detroit. The Lions should be at least 4-0 by now, but their record is now at 2-2-1 and they are now in last place in that division. Let’s see what the Vikings or the Lions come up with next week.

The Redskins changed coaches and got their first win. Off course they beat the Miami Dolphins, but not by much: Redskins 17 Dolphins 16. We can probably rule out that either of these teams will make the playoffs, these teams will be officially named spoilers if they can manage that. The Dolphins will meet up with the Bills next week; can they be competitive in this division game?  The Steelers made up for that lousy Sunday night game they had with the Patriots, and went into a friendly confides of L.A. and beat the Chargers 24-17. The Chargers seem to have an identity problem in L.A. Every team that visits them have more of those fans than the Chargers have.  The Saints continue to win as they went into Jacksonville and beat the Jaguars 13-6. The Saints are on the road again but this time with the tough Chicago Bears who just came off of a bye. In a division game the Ravens beat the lowly Bengals 23-17. Will the Bengals come up with a win? Maybe next week the Bengals will beat the Jaguars??? Don’t think so, but there is always that possibility.

How about the Monday night special; the Packers vs. the Lions. The Lions got off to a great start, but eventually Aaron Rodgers peeped out of the box and eventually brought the Packers back to win it 23-22.

So the contenders are starting to emerge. Teams like the Patriots, 49ers, Saints, and Seahawks. Other teams that sport a winning record, just has not shown us enough at this time. Let’s see what happens next week. Leave a comment at lestalksports.com. NFL 2019 Week 6
